November 2004. River Runners For Wilderness would like to encourage everyone living in or near Denver, Salt Lake, Flagstaff, Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Washington DC, to attend the upcoming Colorado River Management Plan meetings for Grand Canyon National Park.
We suggest taking a list of your questions to ask the CRMP team. This is a great opportunity to find how more about your concerns and issues that may not have been fully addressed in the Plan. For an overview of the plan, visit https://rrfw.org/crmp.
Particularly, you may want to read the draft plan pages 24-32 and 96-102 describing their ideas for the permit system, pages 36-54 describing Alternatives A-H and our summary tables at rrfw.org/leesferry.php and rrfw.org/leesferry2.php, and the draft's Executive Summary at http://www.nps.gov/grca/crmp/documents/deis/index.htm.
River Runners for Wilderness thanks the many participating in our campaigns. Participants have already submitted poetic and passionate comments to the park. If you haven't done so yet, check out our current programs:
View our short internet film for Grand Canyon wilderness at: rrfw.org/video.php and send a letter to the park. Or tell us your comment to the park and get a free t-shirt that declares our belief in "Human Powered Wilderness, Not A Motorized Theme Park" through our Paddle the Plan program at: rrfw.org/ptp.php. We'll write your comment on a paddle and personally turn it over to park staff.
